Mount Sorak - Part 2

It was about a four hour bus ride from Osan to Mt. Sorak, with 2 stops along the way at some very un-restful rest stops... crowded and chaotic, but interesting to say the least. We found some yummy snacks - waffles folded in half with some buttery honey gooey goodness in the middle being made fresh... mmmm...

Squid anyone? Our first stop before arriving at Mt. Sorak was at Naksan Temple. On the way up to the temple area we walked past a fish market with all kinds of um, sea life, hanging out, like what Josh and Luke are standing in front of below. Then there's the Buddha inside the temple and the outside of the temple building.



Here's some shots of us on our hikes around Mount Sorak. I could not believe how much hiking the kids did over lots of rocky, steep terrain! They did amazingly well, and I could definitely see doing more trips like this. We may have to always bring along another family, which probably kept the whining down to a minimum. :) We went with our across-the-hall neighbors and the kids had a blast together.




The last day we took a cable car up to the top of the mountain, and got to see some spectacular views... that's where most of these pictures (below) are from. And though it looks like Rayna's about to slide right off the mountain, she's not! But we did keep a tight hold of the kids up here - there were some crazy drop offs. The group photo is us with our neighbors Britta and Charlie, with their kids Matthew (8), Jackson (6), Josh (4) and a little girl Emerson (10 months). Luke loves being with their three boys and I think he would be happy if we would just let him live across the hall. :)

It's been a long time since Luke fell asleep on Dan's lap like that. This was on our bus ride home at the end of three action packed, fun, exhausting days.
