The kids' Mother's Day Out program had a 4th of July bike parade. The kids got to bring their bikes to school and have a little ride around the parking lot. Luke thought the "bike parade" was going to be something longer and more exciting than a 5 minute ride around the parking lot, and was not ready to go back to his classroom when it was over.
Unfortunately Rayna can't pedal on her little trike, she just scoots along with her feet, or some poor adult has to bend over and push her along!
They started the parade with the Star Spangled Banner. Then they were off!

We got the idea to make these star shirts and the mohawk helmets in our Family Fun magazine. Sometimes it's hard to find the right little cute shirts I want the kids to wear for holidays - especially girl and boy ones that match, so these are perfect. We will have to get creative and make shirts for other holidays too! The kids will probably start protesting at some point to wearing these kind of matchy, home-made outfits, but for now they LOVE it so I'll take advantage. They were so proud of their shirts because they got to help me paint on them.
Luke is growing up way too fast. He'll be 4 this year! I can hardly believe it.
